In a world leaning further and further into a model of AI assisted by humans, AI for the Greater Good teaches students how to solve problems by training AI tools to assist them in their work. Prioritize your humanity, build new skills, learn to apply innovation for the sake of the Gospel, and complete real world projects using AI as a critical tool along the way.

A Christian Philosophy of Using Artificial Intelligence
We see artificial intelligence not as a threat, but as an opportunity and a tool. Like any tool, its impact depends on the heart that wields it. When guided by Scripture and the Spirit, technology can be redeemed for Kingdom purposes.
Through this track, we are training a generation of leaders to engage AI not from a place of fear or conformity but with courage, creativity, and compassion. The goal isn’t technological mastery; it’s spiritual maturity. We want our students to think biblically and act justly, using complex tools like AI to reflect the heart of a God who restores and redeems.
In a world chasing efficiency and profit, we call our young people to a different pursuit: the wise and humble application of innovation for the sake of the Gospel.

Imago Dei: People over Programs
We affirm that every human being is made in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). This means:
- Human dignity is non-negotiable; AI must never replace, devalue, or exploit people.
- AI is a tool, not a replacement for relationships, community, or calling.
- Our designs must honor human flourishing, not mere efficiency or profit.

Stewardship, not Sovereignty
From Eden to eternity, humans are stewards, not owners or gods of creation (Genesis 2:15,
Psalm 24:1).
- We use AI wisely and responsibly as a form of modern stewardship, just like farming,
medicine, or architecture. - We avoid the temptation of technological idolatry—trusting AI to solve what only
spiritual transformation can heal. - Good stewardship includes excellence in skill, transparency in limits, and repentance for
misuse.

Wisdom, not just Knowledge
While AI excels in knowledge, God calls us to wisdom—discernment about when, why, and how to use powerful tools (Proverbs 4:7; James 1:5).
- We teach students to ask deeper questions about ethics, long-term consequences, and
spiritual integrity. - We evaluate every use of AI with a 3-part lens:
- Is it true (aligned with reality)?
- Is it just (aligned with God’s justice and mercy)?
- Is it wise (good for people over time)?

Co-Creation, not Replacement
We believe in human creativity as a gift from God (Exodus 31:1–5, Ephesians 2:10).
- AI can help students and ministries amplify creativity—but it should not replace the work
of the Holy Spirit or personal discipline. - Christian creators use AI to multiply good, not mass-produce shallow content.
- We encourage Spirit-led innovation, not algorithm-driven automation.

Redemption in a Broken World
The world’s greatest problems—poverty, injustice, despair—are spiritual and systemic (Romans 12:2). AI can be used redemptively to:
- Reveal hidden patterns of harm (e.g., trafficking networks, food deserts)
- Empower the vulnerable (e.g., language translation for refugees)
- Multiply Kingdom impact (e.g., Bible study tools, missional planning)

Humility in the Age of Power
We reject both technological arrogance (trusting in AI more than God) and technophobia (fearing what God can redeem).
- Christians engage AI with humility, not hype.
- We limit our use when it threatens relationship, rest, or reverence.
- Our goal is not domination or disruption, but discipleship and discernment.
Who is Adventures in Missions?
Adventures in Missions is an interdenominational missions organization that seeks to disciple as Jesus did; their vision is that God would use them to raise up a generation of radically committed disciples of Jesus Christ.

Seth Barnes is founder and president of Adventures in Missions, as well as founder of ASPIRE, SOE.org, World Race, Gateway, Lighthouse Travel, Missions Training Institute, Eswatinirising.com, GlobalU, Global Entry, World servants, FYM – precursor to World Race, Journey School, and more. Seth is also part owner of multiple tech companies including, Rehabmart, Wolf & Shephrd, Byzantion, Terminal Africa, Big Tree Medical, Baobab Network, and GetDoctor.
TARA TANKERSLEY
Tara Tankersley has served at Adventures in Missions for over 21 years, currently leading as Director of Administration.
With a strong background in systems thinking and process improvement, Tara has led numerous projects that streamlined operations and introduced AI-powered solutions to improve efficiency and is proficient in a wide range of AI platforms, including ChatGPT (OpenAI), Claude (Anthropic), Grok (xAI), Notion AI, Google Cloud AI, and Jasper. She has applied these tools to content generation, strategic planning, team collaboration, and data analysis. In addition, she brings technical expertise in Python, MySQL, and React, allowing her to design, build, and implement solutions that align with both organizational needs and Kingdom vision.
