Navigate is an 8-module online life purpose course for homeschooled high schoolers (age 14 and up). The coursework consists of recorded lectures, reading and writing assignments, and a personal application project. Navigate is self-paced and hosted on the Pathwright platform.
I never realized that discovering what you want to do could be so non-stressful. I used to get stressed out about these things and I really didn't know how to find out what I wanted to do. This course helped me figure that out. I am so happy I was able to take this course.
- Tessa,
Navigate Alum
Navigate students enjoy lessons that—unlike many courses they see their peers taking—are down-to-earth and practical. They receive understandable, honest advice. Navigate gives students the skills they need to explore questions like “Where should I go to college? What should I major in? What career should I pursue?” Our culture makes setting a life direction confusing and hard. Navigate alumni feel re-energized and proclaim, “I have the world ahead again.”
This was an amazing experience and I would recommend it to anyone who feels that they do not have a direction in their life.
- Levi,
Navigate Alum
Navigate alumni no longer procrastinate when faced with important decisions. They don’t passively leave it to others to tell them what to do. They’re self-motivated. They feel a sense of freedom in decision-making, knowing that as long as they love God and love others their life is a true success. Navigate students set a path, course-correct along the way, and are excited to see the outcome. They experiment, explore, and enjoy the journey.
Navigate helped me so much with being more confident in my decision making.
- Elliot,
Navigate Alum
High schoolers are confronted with major decisions that will shape the course of their lives. The stakes inspire anxiety, fear, or panic. Navigate eases students’ worries about the future. Navigate alumni feel peace of mind because they’ve learned to discover their path gradually, over time—they don’t need to know all the answers or have everything figured out. This frees them to navigate the unknown without shrinking away. They bravely move forward (even when scared) because that’s how they learn. After Navigate, the future doesn’t look as scary as it did before.
I definitely enjoyed Navigate. It was a very encouraging and helpful course that took out the panic and overwhelming aspects of decision-making.
- Bethany,
Navigate Alum
Navigate will help your student decide what college to attend, which major to pick, and which career to pursue. But beyond that, Navigate will also equip your student to grapple with life’s big questions: “What am I here for? What’s worth striving for? What is life really about?” As Unbound CEO Jonathan Brush says, “Everybody asks and answers the big questions. The difference is, most people do it subconsciously. It’s a big difference if you do it consciously.”
Navigate gave me the proper tools/mindset to make the big decisions and answer life‘s big questions… Questions that I didn’t know how to answer before.
- Jayden,
Navigate Alum
Navigate alumni cherish the friendships they developed in the program. Their new friends share many of the same beliefs, are navigating a similar life stage, and wonder about all the same questions. Navigate students love the open and honest community. They flourish in an environment of like-minded people who want to pursue their passions and glorify God.
I enjoyed being able to learn how to put myself ‘out there’ and not be afraid to be the first to speak up. I also gained valuable, possibly lifetime long, friendships.
- Chloe,
Navigate Alum
Navigate alumni have learned how to “be extraordinary at the ordinary” and find fulfillment now—not just when they’ve “arrived”). They develop an attitude of mastery and cultivate valuable skills. Navigate students realize that it’s okay to change course in life—that’s learning, not failure. They refuse to stay stuck in an unfulfilling life path just because someone told them it’s “what they should do.” They look at life as a story—a story that God has prepared them for with interests, skills, and experiences. They live their adventure of a life, knowing how and when to make the most impact on the world.
Navigate impacted me in more ways than I ever expected. … Life is a challenge, but you can break it down into the everyday by being Extraordinary at the Ordinary and loving the people around you second only to God.
- Zane,
Navigate Alum
Navigate alumni pursue life to the full while trusting God, because his plan for them is greater than they could imagine. They know how to learn and follow God’s will for their lives, which gives them unshakeable confidence. Navigate students say “I’ve got this,” because they know God’s got them.
I now have the peace that if I love God, love my neighbors, and be extraordinary at the ordinary, I will have a successful life and nothing else really matters!
- Elaina,
Navigate Alum
I really enjoyed learning about the way to move forward in life and approaching the big questions. I loved looking at what skills and experiences I have already gone through in my story so far. Looking at my life as a story, I really appreciated that.
- Naomi,
Navigate Alum
Navigate impacted me by helping me consider my interests in order to help me realize what would be a good career for me personally, along with reminding me to trust God because He has a plan far greater for my life than I could ever dream up.
- Kailyn,
Navigate Alum
Navigate gave me useful tools to help guide me through the decision-making process. It showed me that there are so many other like-minded people who want to know how to pursue their passions well and in a God-honoring way.
- Abigail,
Navigate Alum
Despite cultural pressure, high school students don’t need to have their entire life figured out. They don’t need to know where they’ll end up decades down the road. Picking out a specific destination is stressful, unnecessary, and overkill. Navigate teaches students how to pick a direction, start the journey, and course-correct along the way. It’s a life purpose course that frees your student to experiment, explore, and encounter unexpected opportunities.
As Unbound CEO Jonathan Brush puts it, “Instead of a destination, pick a direction. A direction gets you moving, and ultimately it’s a lot more fun and a lot less stressful than having to pick your final destination now and commit to it no matter what. Navigate is all about making those little course corrections day by day, by being extraordinary at the ordinary.”
Your student doesn’t need a life plan. Your student needs a life framework. Navigate isn’t one of those life purpose courses where “Flawless Life Plan” is the final assignment. Rather, Navigate teaches students a framework to handle the questions and decisions life throws at them with wisdom and discernment. Navigate students learn how to answer questions like:
Students emerge from the course with a flexible framework that they can use to navigate all the decisions—large and small—that are coming their way in the next few years.

Navigate is structured in 8 modules. Each module includes a written introduction, several short video lectures, and reflection and application assignments.
Navigate was helpful in easing my anxiety about the future, which is a lot coming from someone going into their senior year and getting pounded with questions on where I’m going next.
- Dylan,
Navigate Alum
Navigate impacted me very much; the future doesn't look as scary as it did before, and I feel like my mindset changed with every lesson.
- Max,
Navigate Alum
Navigate gave me lots of tools and models that I didn't have before which will help me navigate through life.
- Jedidiah,
Navigate Alum
Students are under assault. They can’t turn on the television without hearing newscasters announce another disaster that’ll make the world difficult for them and their generation. They open their social media feeds and are flooded with posts stoking discomfort and discontent in order to gain influence. Advertisers profit from the fear and anxiety by peddling shallow cures.
Students hear that the world has never been worse, the future is dark, and their hopes are in vain. The voices out there unite to yell one message at students: You Will Not Succeed.
Is it any wonder so many students feel worried, directionless, and confused? They’re nervous to make any decision, lest it turn out to be their undoing. They’ve heard that the stakes are so high, they can’t afford even a single slip. They’re told that fame, money, and success are what matters most—and to get there, they have to walk the knife-edge of performance. Students hear that to survive they must be better than everyone else, look out for number one, and protect their own future.
How can students escape this echo chamber of doom? Students need to be taught how to make decisions confidently. They need to learn how to navigate life with bravery and wholeheartedness. They need to be set free from the shackles that society would place on them.
What today’s students need is to develop the skills of exploring life with unfettered joy, cherishing true community along the way, and trusting that God’s plan for their life is greater than they know. And that’s exactly what Unbound’s Navigate course does. Navigate trains students to find their place and know their course. It cuts through the cultural craziness and ambient stress to insist to these students, “You are not alone. Your cause is not hopeless. Your life is not doomed. You have a future; you have a hope.”
Navigate isn’t like most of the other high school courses your student takes. The course’s goal isn’t a narrow ability, like knowing how to solve a quadratic equation (valuable though that may be). The outcome is newfound confidence in navigating life. An investment in Navigate is an investment in your student’s capacity to handle any future obstacle or opportunity.
Navigate did impact me, and I’m happy to have had the opportunity to take this course. I am emerging from this class with the ability to navigate through life, its decisions, and its opportunities much easier and with much more wisdom. And not just general wisdom either. Wisdom that is personal to how God specifically designed me. That is such precious information, and I cannot thank the Unbound Team enough for making this info palatable and available to young adults.

Navigate definitely impacted me this semester. It encouraged me to become more productive and take action. It taught me how to actually do something about the goals I have. It helped me figure out a future career path and answer some of my big questions.

Navigate isn’t one of those “essential but painful” courses that your student will suffer and whine through, then thank you five years later. Navigate is a life purpose course that your student will love. Navigate alumni emerge from 16 weeks of study with a clear sense of purpose and renewed excitement about their future.
Navigate impacted me very much! It gave me helpful tools to move forward, a better perspective of how I should view my life and career. It’s pushed me to explore and take action in my interests and has taught me how to live a life that can be extraordinary.
- Coburn,
Navigate Alum
Navigate showed me that no matter where I’m at, I can do one thing: Glorify God and enjoy Him forever. And if we don’t do anything else—if we don’t have any other successes or achievements—we can rest in the fact that we’ve completed God’s will in creating us.
- Abigail,
Navigate Alum
Navigate has opened my eyes and changed how I approach things. I have a much better idea of how to make these decisions now. It has been such a good experience and I am so grateful that I took this course.
- Kealey,
Navigate Alum
Navigate is open to rising high school freshmen (age 14 and up) through recent high school graduates.
Navigate is an 8 module online course. The lectures are pre-recorded so students can study at their own pace.
Students will connect with fellow students through class discussion boards, with topics prompted by the course facilitator. They will also interact with the course instructors by email and on the live Q&A calls.
Many Navigate students take a full course load at the same time. Navigate is very conducive to a busy student or graduate’s schedule. It includes no more than 5 hours per week of content and assignments. Assignments consist of reflection and application so students can take what they learn and do something with it—not just write papers about it.
Navigate is for any young adult seeking to discover their life purpose, learn more about who God created them to be, and gain an effective strategy for determining their next step. Whether you are pursuing college, a career, a trade, or just exploring right now, Navigate is designed to set you up to launch into whatever is next armed with an understanding of your purpose, God’s will for your life, and the ability to ask good questions.
Navigate showed me how important it is to move forward even if you are scared or don’t know what to do because that’s how you learn. And also how it’s important to live with intentionality and to make sure you try to live by God’s plan.
- Shelby,
Navigate Alum
Navigate really helped me to see that I can change course in life as much as I want to. Our culture tells us we must decide what we are going to do in life and stick with it, but I was encouraged that I do not have to take that same route.
- Kara,
Navigate Alum
Navigate was very impactful. Many people today are eager to share career and life advice, but most advice has no practical steps or clear examples of being successful. But Navigate gives the most understandable and honest advice I've heard in a long time.
- Karielle,
Navigate Alum
The Navigate course is something that I would say is mandatory for the success of anyone in the process of maturing into adulthood. It completely changed the way I deal with decisions. For example, instead of dreading the outcomes of decisions, I now look forward to seeing the outcome. I can experiment, knowing that I will always come out better and with more knowledge and wisdom than before. To summarize, I feel freedom!
- Ben,
Navigate Alum
Before Navigate, I felt anxious over the upcoming decisions I needed to make. I was under the impression that I needed to have it all figured out to set out on my journey. This course’s notion of not needing to commit to the first thing you try has brought me a lot more freedom in my decision-making and has helped me try WAY more things than I would have otherwise.
- Luke,
Navigate Alum
Navigate definitely impacted me! I love this community, and how open and honest everyone was about their life situations. Many of the things I learned were not at all lofty or ridiculously broad, but rather they were down-to-earth and practical for every type of person, young or old. I feel like now I know where I need to go from here, and I don't have to worry about being all alone in my questions.
