To build the kingdom of Christ. We are not a ministry. We are a for-profit business. However, we believe all Christ-honoring work is a form of ministry. In that sense, everything we do is missional and must be focused on kingdom-building.

To continually build the health of our soil, the quality of our water, and the sustainability of our farm. We use no-till and organic practices, rotationally graze our livestock and strive to develop as much wildlife, bird, and pollinator habitat as possible while producing delicious, nutrient-dense foods for our community.

Catalytic Innovations, LLC is a for-profit business that creates and
develops disruptive technology in the agri-chemical manufacturing and metallurgical
extraction industries.

Values—It’s hard to describe the essence of a “good job” or job where you “can’t
wait to get to work” until you’ve experienced one that isn’t! Catalytic Innovations is still
“distilling” that “essence” but some of the elements it feels are critical are amazingly
similar to how Jesus might do it.

Treating each other how you would want to be treated—kind of like church only
better.

Confronting situations that cause friction and fixing them

Training everyone to be a leader—because tomorrow you may be called upon to
be one!

Leave “macho” at the door—nothing puts a chill in Innovation like the “tough
guy” know it all.

Enforced Chain of Command Communication destroys Innovation—and breeds
discontent.

Summer Internships and Co-ops (full-time for the entire semester or semester plus summer) are sought after for the following positions:

Production: Co-op students will be trained on all facets of the process: adding ingredients to the reactors, in-process testing (QA/QC), driving forklifts, tanker truck load out, maintenance of equipment, use of tools and equipment, process trouble shooting, operational strategy, etc. Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, and occasional strenuous activities that are common in agricultural or metals recovery operations. Willing to give a lot of responsibility to make this a great learning experience. Open to all majors, freshman through graduate level.

Laboratory/Analytical: Analytical and R&D Chemist to perform routine production assays for a liquid micronutrient fertilizer manufacturing facility. Will be trained how to operate ICP, microwave plasma and flame AA. At least half of the job description involves R&D on new processes being developed by Catalytic Innovations. Catalytic’s competitive edge is its ability to utilize secondary materials as feedstocks to recycle valuable micronutrient metals (such as zinc, manganese, and copper) to produce high-purity products. Current R&D projects in the scale-up phase are alkaline battery recycling to produce virgin-grade zinc and manganese and
the recycling of oil refinery catalysts containing molybdenum, nickel and cobalt. Future R&D projects involve Li-ion battery recycling and ultra-high purity zinc electrowinning.

Marketing: We have a website, an Instagram, Facebook, and a Linkedin account for our battery recycling kit under the name of GoRecycleUSA. This was set up and managed by our last marketing intern and we haven’t been able to continue after that first internship. We are looking for someone that can continue and add to these platforms and find others that may be more relevant and successful.

Production: Looking for creative, intelligent, people with an eye for improvement to operate our processing circuits. New hires will be trained on all facets of the process: adding ingredients to the reactors, in-process testing (QA/QC), driving forklifts, tanker truck load out, maintenance of equipment, use of tools and equipment, process troubleshooting, operational strategy, etc. Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, and occasional strenuous activities that are common in agricultural or metals recovery operations. Willing to give a lot of responsibility to make this a great learning experience. We are a fast-growing company with many more projects being developed in the lab that will be piloted and brought to full
scale. Our goal is to train the front-line production workers so they can be the managers of the next full-scale production plant.

Electrowinning Manager: Looking for someone with a strong chemistry background to operate and manage our pilot scale, ultra-high purity zinc electrowinning (plating) pilot plant. Currently, the pilot plant can do 200 tons/year of zinc. The goal is to improve the pilot plant design and build a 1000-2000 ton/year plant. Also, will be in charge of the melting furnace making 1000 lb and 50 lb ingots.

Sales Representative: Catalytic Innovations has three focus areas that will need its own sales rep. The first one is to manage by-product ammonium sulfate and ammonium nitrate liquid solutions. These are due to come on stream in early 2023. The second is to help with the existing liquid micronutrient business that is already established. In the past, the production plant could not make all the products that we could sell with minimal sales effort. With the new expansion, the volume of sales will require a full-time position. The third sales position will also be a new area for Catalytic—industrial sales. One of our products can also be used in galvanizing operations. Also, sales of our molybdenum, nickel, and cobalt will be to non-ag customers.
