We believe deeply in the power of community and mentoring. The remote nature of Ascend allows students to connect across the country, but community happens in person. Basecamp’s schedule is intentionally designed to include afternoon and evening free time, family-style meals, and scheduled activity options for students to form relationships.
I made so many new connections, and even after leaving, I felt so prepared to start my schooling.

It was incredible to finally meet people in person that I had only met online. . .It felt like the kind of people that are normally the minority and with whom I relate were now the big majority and that was super special and felt like a great privilege to be a part of.
