MEET THE
With over 25 years of combined experience
and a passion for equipping young adults to thrive, the Unbound Speaker Team is dedicated to empowering and inspiring young people to live dynamic, purposeful, and resilient lives for
the glory of God.
Over the past several years, our team has traveled across the nation sharing practical tools, strategies, and insights with thousands of families. We exist to inspire young adults to pursue personal growth, meaningful work, and build real, lasting community no matter where life takes them.
Whether you’re looking for engaging keynote sessions, practical workshops, or even a comprehensive Teen Track, the Unbound Speaker Team is here to help you engage your audience and equip families to pursue excellence together.
Our team brings a variety of real-world expertise in education, leadership, and personal development.
Our focus is on helping young people discover their strengths, find their purpose, and thrive in a rapidly changing world.
Our day job is working for Unbound, where we train young adults to thrive.
President & CEO
Jonathan Brush is the President and CEO of Unbound, a homeschool graduate, and a homeschool dad of seven. He worked for nine years as a Director of Admissions for a private, liberal arts college, and then spent over ten years working in non-traditional higher education. Jonathan loves Unbound and Unbound students and dreams every single day about new ways to connect them to each other. He gets to work with the world’s best team and the most amazing student body in the history of the world (which is just as awesome as it sounds), and field questions about Rule 4 violations (ask an Unbound student to explain).
VP of Content & Development
Victoria Schurter is the Executive Director of Learning for Unbound and has a deep and abiding love of all things creative. When she’s not working on an Unbound project, you can find her scribbling on a novel, playing a favorite instrument, riding horses, watching a sunset, or dreaming up some new adventure that absolutely includes the Pacific coastline. One of the best parts of her world is walking alongside other young adults as they make an eternal impact in their generation.
Speaker
Trent Emmack was born in the Ozark mountains of Southwestern Missouri, but now lives in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia. He brings energy and nonstop ideas to the table and is always ready to try something new or dangerous. Trent is a deep thinker, has a well-informed and unique perspective on current culture, and is passionate about distilling big ideas into easy-to-understand principles. When speaking, Trent loves to incorporate personal stories that make his sessions hilarious and energetic, but always with the purpose of reinforcing the bigger ideas he is trying to communicate.
Speaker
Riley Maas, a long-time resident of the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, combines her love of people and details as the accounting manager at Unbound while also directing her 8th year of high school theater. Her unique combination of skills was fostered at a young age through homeschooling, ultimately culminating in earning her bachelor’s degree at 19. With a passion for helping young adults to identify their unique gifts and challenges, Riley applies practical wisdom and experience to equip the next generation to live out their God-written stories.
Speaker
Sarah Shaw is an artist, graphic designer, speaker, and writer who is curious about the gap between the head and the heart. With an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, she enjoys exploring the dynamic intersection between mental health, theology, and creativity. She is the founder of Inklivity where she spends her time “Illustrating the Invisible.” (If that’s got you curious, you can check out her website here.)
